Person dies after being hit by vehicle in Auckland

A person has died after being hit by vehicle in the Auckland suburb of New Windsor late on Christmas Day.

The incident happened on Rosamund Avenue just before 10.30pm on Saturday.

The person died at the scene.

An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances, police said in a statement.
