A frustrated Liam Lawson has called tactics by a rival "disgraceful" after coming agonisingly close to winning a German DTM touring car championships.
Starting on pole and needing a fifth-place finish to win the championship, Lawson and fellow rider Nick Cassidy were victims of some careless driving on the opening lap.
Lawson couldn't recover from the crash, finishing 18th, to take second in the championship behind Germany's Maximilian Gotz.
The Kiwi was visibly distraught after the race, calling out rival Kelvin van der Linde's dirty tactics.
“One of the most stressed out guys I’ve seen, racing for a championship … it was pretty disgraceful, both me and Nick got taken out by the same guy coming in like a torpedo."
