A race helmet worn by Kiwi F1 driver Liam Lawson during one of the standout performances of his career is up for auction, with bidding already reaching $21,000.
Turners is auctioning the helmet worn by Lawson at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, where he qualified third before securing a career-best fifth place finish.
It was the first race-worn helmet of Lawson's to be put up for sale, according to Turners, who has sponsored Lawson's racing career since he was 16.
The Bell HP77 helmet had been personally signed by Lawson and remained in its race-worn condition, including visor tear-offs.
It featured the pink and white design used by Lawson during the 2025 season, alongside Māori-inspired motifs, a silver fern and the Southern Cross.
As of Monday afternoon, bidding for the helmet on Turners' website had reached $21,000.
The auction was due to close at 7pm on September 13.
It was not the first piece of Lawson memorabilia to go up for auction. In March, Turners auctioned off a signed miniature replica of one of his helmets, while Lawson's first car — a 2000 Subaru Forester — sold for $35,300 in a charity auction last year.
The full-sized helmet now up for auction was worn during what was then Lawson's best Formula 1 weekend.
He secured a career-best third in a chaotic qualifying session around the Baku City street circuit, lining up behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
Lawson went on to finish fifth in the race, his best F1 result at the time, before matching that result at this year's Monaco Grand Prix.
His defensive drive in Baku earned him the tongue-in-cheek "New Zealand Minister of Defence" nickname.
Lawson has enjoyed another strong season in Formula 1, including a recent return to Red Bull as a stand-in for the injured Isack Hadjar.
He is ninth in the world drivers' standings on 51 points — the highest scoring driver outside of the top four teams.
