Man pleads guilty to stabbing miniature horse named Star 41 times

A man has pleaded guilty today to stabbing a miniature horse named Star 41 times in February 2019.

The Dunedin District Court lifted name suppression for Reginald Robert Ozanne, who pleaded guilty this afternoon.

Star initially survived the attack in Waitati, near Dunedin, despite being stabbed 41 times, before dying two days later.

Ozanne will re-appear for sentencing in May.
