Homicide investigation launched in Bay of Plenty after man found critically injured overnight

Police are investigating the death of a man in the Bay of Plenty overnight as a potential homicide.

Emergency responders found the critically injured man on Seaforth Road in Waihi Beach after responding to reports of a disorder around 1am, police said this morning in a statement.

He died at the scene as emergency medical treatment was administered, police said.

Police remain at the scene.
