Kiwi singer Helen Corry banned from Facebook over her music video that protests against sexual harassment

New Zealand singer Helen Corry has been banned from Facebook after she posted a link to her new music video 'La Femme' which the social media giant deemed inappropriate.

The video intended to demonstrate female empowerment and showed a woman in body paint being groped by hands.

The woman then fends off the hands to a chorus of "Time's up".

"This is about getting people talking about the issues, about Me Too and about how we empower females, so that when we look at a woman we see them and not just something with boobs," Stuff quoted Ms Corry as saying.

"It's a comment on sexual harassment."

Ms Corry said Facebook suspended her page three weeks ago.

She had tried to explain to them that her song was clearly an artistic protest, but had received no response.

Facebook's guidelines state that while it restricts some images of female breasts that include the nipple, "we allow other images, including those depicting acts of protest".
