Watch: Fire fighters on the scene as smoke billows out of Auckland's Sky City Hotel

Emergency services are on the scene after smoke billowed from the Sky City Hotel, next to the Sky Tower in downtown Auckland today.

1 NEWS understands the smoke came from a generator in the structure that was being tested.

Much of the area was evacuated as a result of the incident.

Multiple fire engines are on the scene.
