Hundreds of thousands of Lego blocks have landed for the Brickman Wonders of the World Exhibition in Wellington.

The exhibition, held in Te Papa, features 50 different landmarks from the Great Pyramid and the Taj Mahal to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The creator, Ryan McNaught, is the only "certified Lego professional" in the southern hemisphere.

One piece, a Russian palace, took around 320 hours to construct using 71,000 bricks at a cost of $40,000, Mr McNaught says.

The Lego sculptures were made from half a million dollars worth of Legos and took three days to set up.
