'Dana, please take the job!' Trump posts press sec offer to UFC boss

President Donald Trump attends the UFC-316 mixed martial arts event, at the Prudential Center, in Newark, NJ, with UFC's Dana White, left.

US President Donald Trump says he has offered UFC boss Dana White the role of White House press secretary, according to a recent social media post.

"Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other," he wrote on Truth Social. "Dana, please take the job!"

It is unclear whether the offer was genuine.

Trump called White "a violent Fighter and Warrior" in the post. He also added images of six UFC fighters, asking White to bring them on the job, "even though some are not from our Country".

"We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left," he wrote.

Following Trump's post, White posted a photo of himself behind a White House lectern with the caption: "On to the next chapter".

The vacancy for press secretary role has been open since mid-October, when Katie Zacharia exited after just a few days on the job.

A longtime friend and ally of Trump, White spoke in support of him at the Republican National Conventions in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

Earlier this year, the UFC held a cage match on the White House lawn to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US.
