Emergency crews respond to house fire in Dunedin

Emergency crews rushed to a house fire in suburban Dunedin this morning.

Firefighters from across the city were called to Loyalty St in the south of the city just after 11am.

The Otago Daily Times reported there were emotional scenes in the street, with two young women being consoled by police.

Police were urging the public to stay away.
