Ryan Fox shut down American hopes at the Presidents Cup after sinking the winning putt for the International team.
Fox partnered with Australian Min Woo Lee to clutch a 1 up win over the American pair of double major winners Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark.
Reigning Open champion Fox sealed victory on the 18th green after Lee's supreme driving proved a feature of the day at Medina Country Club.
The Internationals won the foursomes 5-0, giving them an overall tournament lead of 7-3 as they inched closer to their first Cup triumph in over 20 years.
The US team won the first day of four-balls 3-2.
It's the largest lead the Internationals have had since 1998, the year they last won the Presidents Cup.
Sunday's matches will be critical, with four matches of fourballs being played before four matches of foursomes.
Day three matches will begin at 12am NZT.
To round out the tournament, day four will see all 24 golfers take part in 12 head-to-head singles matches.
