An Egyptian TV presenter is among 12 people sentenced to death by hanging after being convicted of drug-related charges.
Egyptian media reported Sarah Khalifa and 11 others were found to be part of a criminal group that imported raw materials used to manufacture drugs for sale.
The group was also found to be in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Khalifa, 39, was best known for presenting television programme Mission Impossible, which focused on security and crime issues.
She also owned a cosmetic surgery clinic and a production company that specialised in organising events.
Khalifa denied the charges against her and her lawyer said she would appeal the death sentence.
The verdict was initially announced last month but was confirmed this week after the court obtained an opinion from Egypt's grand mufti — a legal requirement before a death sentence could be finalised.
During the trial, the court heard authorities had seized more than 750kg of narcotics, alongside raw materials intended for drug production.
Khalifa reportedly told the court last September she had never seen the drugs she was accused of possessing until she was photographed with them inside anti-narcotics authority offices.
Nine other defendants in the case were sentenced to life imprisonment in the case, while a further seven were acquitted.
