During a road rage altercation a firearm was shot into the drivers side of a windscreen.

Police have charged three men after a road rage altercation in Manukau last week escalated to a windscreen being fired on.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers said, “it’s incredibly lucky no one was injured" in the incident.

At about 5pm on August 26, police received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on Ronwood Ave near the centre of Manukau.

Vickers said the confrontation on Ronwood Ave occurred after an initial altercation in a nearby carpark moments earlier.

Three men involved – aged 27, 28 and 37 – have now been charged.

Vickers said the men "have been remanded in custody and charged with multiple offences including discharging a firearm, assault with intent to injure and dangerous driving".
