A UK man was found trying to hide from British authorities during a house search last year, stuffing himself into a fridge.

Dean Foord, 33, was arrested by Kent Police in December 2025 after a report from his former victim claimed she suffered mental and physical abuse for six months.

The victim said Foord controlled her life, limiting her ability to leave her house and cutting off her family, as well as threatening her with weapons.

She also alleged he used her money on drugs, gambling, alcohol and lottery scratch cards.

Investigating officer Police Constable George Fisher described Foord as dangerous, saying, "'Foord is a violent bully who used fear, violence and intimidation to control almost every aspect of the victim's life."

"He tried to hide from officers in a fridge, but there are no hiding places."

During the arrest, Foord was also found to be in possession of cocaine, adding another criminal offence to the list.

A Kent Police spokesperson labelled Foord as a "violent abuser", sharing the man was "found guilty of actual bodily harm, criminal damage, threats to kill, common assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, and possession of a class A drug."

He was eventually jailed at Maidstone Crown Court on June 30, receiving a sentence of three years.
