Two men were arrested after they allegedly climbed a large crane at the site of Dunedin's new hospital while intoxicated over the weekend.
Senior Sergeant Iain Notman said the pair were found at the top of a large mobile crawler crane on the CBD worksite at around 3.30am on Saturday.
"Both were intoxicated and were arrested once they climbed down."
They were both charged with unlawfully being in an enclosed yard and were expected to appear in the Dunedin District Court this week.
Construction at the former Cadbury factory site resumed last year after work was halted for a redesign.
The new inpatient building was expected to welcome patients from 2031, two years after the initial opening date of 2029.
