A family is worried for the wellbeing of a Bay of Islands boatie who disappeared more than a week ago.
Police are now appealing for sightings of 58-year-old Benjamin Barrett, who was last seen in Russell's Matauwhi Bay on May 26 at around 11.30pm.
Barrett had been living aboard his boat, named Reremoana, in Matauwhi Bay.
He was believed to have left the boat in his dinghy, police said.
The 2.7m dinghy was described by as white with a rounded smooth front with a fibreglass exterior.
"It is approximately 9ft long with a wooden frame and seats."
Police and Benjamin's family have not heard from Barrett despite "numerous" attempts to contact him, and are concerne for his wellbeing.
Police asked those who had information on Barrett's whereabouts, or if they had seen his dinghy, to contact police via 105.
