An open-top bus will carry Auckland FC players and the A-League trophy down Queen Street today as the city celebrates the club's first grand final win.
Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown is calling on fans to turn out for the parade, which departs Aotea Square at 11.30am and ends at Takutai Square in Britomart, where a trophy presentation will take place from midday.
"I know some people may have been celebrating long into the night, it was an unforgettable occasion," Brown said.
"I'm encouraging fans to come along today and be part of it. This is a chance for the whole city to get behind the team and celebrate a special moment for Auckland."
Coach Steve Corica, chief executive Nick Becker and players will address the crowd at Britomart. The event is free and open to all.
Queen St and Customs St will be closed from 10am to 1.30pm.
Auckland Transport warned several bus routes would detour during the parade, including the City Link, routes 27H, 27W and 70.
Auckland beat Sydney FC 1-0 at a sold-out Go Media Stadium on Saturday night, becoming the first New Zealand team to win an A-League grand final.
The club's inaugural signing Cameron Howieson scored the only goal in the 60th minute and claimed the Joe Marston Medal, AAP reported.
Brown had been among the 28,374-strong crowd for the match, which sealed the championship in just the club's second season.
Corica's win was also a record third A-League grand final title for the coach, who had won back-to-back titles with Sydney FC before being sacked by the club in 2023, AAP reports.
