Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame appears to have been defaced by vandals, according to images shared online.
The late country singer was laid to rest on Monday following her death from cancer on August 25, aged 80.
Tributes flowed for the American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and philanthropist - who was one of the most-successful female artists in the history of the country genre with 25 number-one singles, and a record 41 top-10 country albums.
Parton received her first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 14, 1984, in a dual ceremony with Sylvester Stallone.
She later received a second star in June 2018 alongside Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt for their collaborative Trio album.
In videos which emerged online, Parton's star appeared to have scratches over her name.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, told TMZ that a fan reported on Tuesday night that someone had stolen flowers from the star and scratched it up.
Martinez told Newsweek that based on images she'd seen online "it does appear the star was vandalised with scratches".
The Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains every star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said Parton's star was already on the list of those needing repairs due to cracks before the alleged vandalism.
The apparent vandalism was a devastating sight for fans and mourners all over the world, with some taking to social media to vent their frustration and shock.

"How evil do you have to be to hate Dolly?!?!" one person wrote.
Another said: "WTF is wrong with people. Dolly was 1000% one of the nicest famous people you could ever hope to even meet."
