Police name 2 killed in crash involving truck, bus near Marton

Two people who died following a crash between a truck and a bus which wasn't carrying passengers near Marton last month have been named by police.

They were 65-year-old Peter John Neilson from Howick and 53-year-old Sahim Ali from Palmerston North.

Emergency services were called to a rail bridge between Wings and Calico lines on State Highway 1 on the morning of Tuesday, October 15.

Police said the two-vehicle crash which has blocked State Highway 1 was reported at around 8.50am. (Source: 1News)
