A man has been arrested after a woman aged in her 80s was allegedly assaulted in a home invasion in Auckland's Henderson last month.
The incident occurred on Dellwood Ave at 2.20am on June 27. Police said at the time the offender had assaulted the victim after they were disturbed in the house. The victim was left seriously injured.
"As a result of extensive inquiries and information from the public, police located a person of interest early this morning," Waitematā CIB Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie said.
She said a 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and assault.

He is due to appear in the Waitākere District Court today.
Goldie said officers would continue to provide support to the victim, who is continuing to recover with her family.
"We can reassure our locals and the wider public that police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter," she said.
