Beloved motorbike of Kiwi musician to be auctioned for charity

The collector’s motorcycle will be revealed at the grand opening of the Capital Coast Harley Davidson in Wellington.

Fans of Kiwi band L.A.B. will be able to bid on their very own piece of history — as the Harley Davidson motorbike from the band's debut album is going up for sale.

L.A.B. frontman Joel Shadbolt said he is selling the custom bike through an auction on TradeMe to raise money for youth mental health charity I Am Hope.

Shadbolt said the bike "isn't just any Harley," but a visual representation of L.A.B's debut album artwork that has been transformed into a true masterpiece.

"This bike has been my pride and joy," he said. "I'm stoked to be able to give back to this incredible charity through the auction".

The collector's motorcycle will be revealed at the grand opening of the Capital Coast Harley Davidson in Wellington on Saturday, April 6.

"Working with the ECHD team to bring this vision to life has been an absolute pleasure. It's a head-turner, and the details are incredible," said Shadbolt.

The winning bidder will also receive six fully signed and framed L.A.B. vinyl collection, a personalised LABNZ number plate, and select L.A.B. merchandise to draw in potential bidders.

I Am Hope charity founder Mike King said he was "incredibly grateful" for the generosity of the auction.

"This auction is a fantastic way to raise awareness for mental health struggles and the support services we offer. Every dollar raised makes a difference," he said.
