Police have today named the victims of a fatal multi-vehicle crash near Lake Pukaki over Easter weekend.
The incident occurred between two vehicles and a motorcycle between Hayman Rd and Tekapo-Canal Rd around 1.30pm on Saturday, March 30.
They were Gavin James William Beere, 85, of Christchurch; Megat Ashman Aqif Megat Irman Jefni, 21, of Christchurch; Wan Adlina Alisa, 20, of Christchurch; and Phillip Wayne Woodham, 71, of Ashburton.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim posted his condolences to two of the victims, who were Malaysian University of Canterbury students.
"Police extend our condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time," a spokesperson said today.

"Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
