Steven Adams is reportedly to be traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Houston Rockets, despite injury ruling him out for the season.
ESPN NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, who has over six million followers on X, broke the news on the platform this afternoon.
According to his sources, Adams is to be traded for Rockets shooting guard Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks.
The Grizzlies announced in October that Adams would undergo season-ending surgery on his posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) after non-operative rehabilitation didn’t resolve his ongoing knee troubles.
Adams is expected to make a full recovery before the start of the next NBA campaign but it appears he will not return to the court wearing Grizzly colours.
Wojnarowski said the Rockets front office believed “Adams brings the toughness and leadership that coach Ime Udoka craves for his team".
He said it's believed Adams will have a limited role behind 21-year-old Alperen Şengün, but can still have an impact.
