Yanfei Bao disappearance: Fresh police searches planned

Searches are set to continue tomorrow for missing Christchurch woman Yanfei Bao.

Bao, 44, disappeared while door-knocking in Wigram on July 19. She was reported missing the next day.

Tingjun Cao, 52, was arrested at Christchurch International Airport and has been charged with kidnapping and murder.

Officers will search areas in Motukarara and Greenpark for Bao tomorrow, a spokesperson said.

The Specialist Search Group will assist and the search could "possibly" extend into Friday.

"Areas along Hudsons Road, Jarvis Road and along the edge of Lake Ellesmere near Jarvis Road will be searched.

"Police remain determined and committed to finding Ms Bao, continuously reviewing and assessing search locations and conducting enquiries," a police spokesperson said.
