Relive 1News' live updates of day two of the first Test between the Black Caps and England at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
ENG 79/2 - Pope 14, Broad 6*
STUMPS! And that will do it for day two. Another jam-packed day with the five-day Test match already well and truly into the second innings on day two!
Blundell's century is definitely the highlight for the Black Caps. We've spoken about it plenty already but it really was the difference-maker for getting the Kiwis back into things here but already England have come out with some gusto and put on 79 runs for two wickets to finish the day, compared to the Black Caps last night in similar circumstances who were left at 37/3.
Tickner and Kuggeleijn got the breakthroughs this evening after another rough spell from Wagner. The debutants also showing some grit with the bat earlier in the day as we wrap this one up with England leading by 98 runs.
That's all from us and again, to those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle and currently doing it tough - Kia Kaha, our thoughts are with you.
ENG 69/2 - Pope 14, Broad 1*
DROPPED! Well, in a sense. Broad looks like he's gone second ball of his innings as he top edges an ugly heave into the night sky but neither Blundell nor Kuggeleijn get under it! It looks as though the keeper called but he stopped the chase as the ball came back to earth very close to his bowler. England hold on...
ENG lead by 88 runs with eight wickets in hand.
ENG 68/2 - Pope 14, Broad 0*
WICKET! Kuggeleijn comes to the party and removes the other opener! Crawley goes for the short ball with a pull but he's nicked it behind to Blundell. Looked out of sync on the swing but the Kiwis will take it regardless. Big wicket with 15 minutes left in the day.
Out comes Broad as the Nightwatchman. Can he and England hold?
ENG lead by 87 runs with eight wickets in hand.
ENG 53/1 - Crawley 27*, Pope 1
WICKET! Tickner makes the breakthrough! Angles the ball across outside off and get Duckett drawn out to it, resulting in a tame outside edge to Latham at second slip. The opener departs for a quick 25 from 27.
ENG lead by 72 runs with nine wickets in hand.
ENG 29/0 - Crawley 18, Duckett 11*
Not the start the Black Caps wanted here as England's openers tee off on Wagner. That's led Southee to make an early change and bring in Tickner but confidence is already showing in the English bats.
ENG lead by 48 runs with 10 wickets in hand.
ENG 0/0 - Crawley 0*, Duckett 0
And here we go! It's the second innings but we're only on the third session of day two! Southee will take the ball first for the Black Caps and he's showing his intent early - four slips lined up next to man of the moment Blundell behind the stumps.
Is there any more magic left in this day?
ENG lead by 19 runs with 10 wickets in hand.
NZL 306/10 - Tickner 3
WICKET! And finally Blundell's magnificent innings comes to a close. He charges Anderson but hoists it high into the air. The English bowler calls for it, gets underneath, and takes the catch. A truly brilliant knock from Blundell who came in when NZ were 83/5 and has steered them to within 19 of England.
That ends the first innings but what a fine display from Blundell and Tickner to finish - and to their credit, have timed the final wicket quite well. New Zealand will come out now with about an hour left, a fairly new ball and some wickets to chase!
Stay with, we'll have England's second innings shortly.
NZ trail by 19 runs.
NZL 302/9 - Blundell 134*, Tickner 3
MISSED WICKET! Ho, ho, ho! Broad dangles one outside off and it's enough to get Tickner interested. It travels through to the keeper and he's gone up but Broad and Stokes aren't so convinced. Play continues but UltraEdge comes out... and there was an edge! Maybe Stokes was wary of only having one review left in this match? Either way, we carry on!
NZL trail by 23 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 300/9 - Blundell 134, Tickner 1*
And there's the 300 for NZ! Blundell goes got a big hack to leg but the ball flies off a leading edge over the fly slip and races away for another boundary. That also bring up 53 for the 10th-wicket partnership after England opted to declare last night at the fall of their 9th wicket. Could that play a role in this match in the end?

Also, some credit has to go to Tickner here. On debut, new ball coming at him from some of England's finest and he is a brick wall at the moment. One-from-18. Long may he stand!
NZL trail by 25 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 296/9 - Blundell 130*, Tickner 1
New ball time! There's some discussion from the English bowling group but in the end it's handed to Anderson to see if he can finally shut down Blundell, who is playing with great freedom since cracking that ton. Mentally, if he can get NZ to the 300 mark, it will be a big win for the Kiwis after a pressing start from the tourists.
NZL trail by 29 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 284/9 - Blundell 118*, Tickner 1
DROPPED! Blundell has let loose a bit here now that he's reached three figures and it almost costs him! Goes for the big heave on a wider delivery from Stokes but he's edged it. Foakes dives but can't bring close his mitts around it in time. That gives them a single and with it, Blundell retains the strike! He's certainly going for it!
NZL trail by 41 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 265/9 - Blundell 101*, Tickner 0
CENTURY! Blundell rushes back to get inside his crease and he's got his hundred! A superb innings from him under immense pressure and with it, he's got a piece of history - that's the first century by a keeper in a Day-Night Test. Absolutely brilliant from him and he's getting the praise he deserves. He even gets the single to finish the over and retain the strike.
Now, how much further can he and Tickner cut into this deficit...
NZL trail by 59 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 261/9 - Blundell 96, Tickner 0*
And Blundell goes bonkers! Smacks a six over cow corner and two fours off a rough over from Leach to up the run rate and he's four runs off a very deserved century. The only problem is the last ball of the over is one of those boundaries... meaning Tickner will now take strike and Robinson will be hunting.
NZL trail by 64 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 247/9 - Blundell 82*, Tickner 0
WICKET! Well, that didn't last long. Southee goes for 10-from-13 after going for the inswinger from Robinson. He gets good wood on it coming across his crease but Duckett is out at backward square, leaps for it five yards from the ropes and he manages to nab it. Impressive take. Blundell left with one partner...
NZL trail by 78 runs with one wicket in hand.
NZL 241/8 - Blundell 81, Southee 5
And we're back for the final session of the day. Should be around two hours. Who knows what's in store but no doubt England want to shut this down quickly. For the Black Caps, it's all about how far Blundell can go - although some big whacks from Southee won't go amiss either.
NZL trail by 84 runs with two wickets in hand.
NZL 238/8 - Blundell 80, Southee 3*
TEA! And shortly after Kuggeleijn's departure, it's time for a break. England continuing to chip away at the Black Caps but Blundell doing everything in his power to keep them afloat after being passed the torch from Conway.
It only gets tougher from here though with those twilight hours approaching and so too a new ball.
Stay with us, the third session will be in about an hour.
NZL trail by 87 runs with two wickets in hand.
NZL 235/8 - Blundell 80. Southee 0*
WICKET! Bowled 'im! Kuggeleijn departs for 20 after Robinson sends the middle stump flying. Beauty of a ball. Gets inside Kuggeleijn's defence without a scratch. Still a decent knock on debut.
Out comes the skipper to help Blundell's mission.
NZL trail by 90 runs with two wickets in hand.
NZL 230/7 - Blundell 77*, Kuggeleijn 19
NO WICKET! BLUNDELL SURVIVES! Anderson's ball slices through Blundell and is given out caught behind! But Blundell reviews immediately. Replays show it clipped his back leg and UltraEdge proves there was no edge so the call is reversed!
NZL trail by 95 runs with three wickets in hand.
NZL 225/7 - Blundell 73, Kuggeleijn 18*
England call for a review after thinking they've trapped Blundell but getting nothing for their appeal. Anderson's ball has definitely beat Blundell on the inside edge but Hawk-Eye shows it's missing. That's England' second unsuccessful review so far. They have one left in the match as the Black Caps bring the chase to within 100 runs exactly.
NZL trail by 100 runs with three wickets in hand.
NZL 201/7 - Blundell 50*, Kuggeleijn 17
FIFTY! It took some waiting but Blundell finally gets his 50. Well earned, a bat raised to the dressing room. Another hard-fought knock from the keeper and Kuggeleijn has come out firing at the other end with a few boundaries - including a six - to start his debut Test innings with the bat.

NZL trail by 124 runs with three wickets in hand.
NZL 182/7 - Blundell 48*, Kuggeleijn 0
WICKET! Bracewell's stay is short as he lobs a ball to mid-on. Not great. Limply shoveled the ball, no power, and he's sent packing.
NZL trail by 143 runs with three wickets in hand.
NZL 158/6 - Blundell 33*, Bracewell 0
WICKET! Stokes has put himself into the attack and the English skipper gets the big one! Gets Conway to half-heartedly commit to a ball short and outside the line of off stump and he pulls it into the air, straight to square leg for the easy take. Conway goes for a hard-fought 77 and hands things over to Michael Bracewell.
NZL trail by 167 runs with four wickets in hand.
NZL 142/5 - Conway 73, Blundell 23*
Back into the action and it's Pope and Leach with the ball for England to start the second session.
NZL trail by 183 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 138/5 - Conway 72, Blundell 21*
TEA! And that's the first break of day two. A good partnership forming here after England struck twice early to start the day. A combined 55 from Conway and Blundell is helping to get this Black Caps side back on track. Conway continuing a disciplined innings so far and giving England very little to look for.
Hard to say who "won" that session with how Conway and Blundell finished it.
This next session could really dictate the Test though so stay with us.
NZL trail by 187 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 127/5 - Conway 66, Blundell 16*
Three runs from Conway gets New Zealand inside 200 runs for their chase, ending any hopes of an England follow-on. Who knows if they would've used it but after yesterday's bold strokes, it's anyone's guess!
NZL trail by 198 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 120/5 - Conway 62, Blundell 13*
REVIEW! Third umpire comes in to take a look after Conway smashes a lobbed Root delivery back at him and it's obliterated the stumps at the non-striker's end! Root stuck his foot out and argues he's touched it which would likely signal the end of Blundell here. The replays aren't that helpful but it's close. UltraEdge doesn't pick anything up though so we carry on!
NZL trail by 205 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 103/5 - Conway 52, Blundell 6*
FIFTY! Conway brings up 100 for New Zealand and then his own 50 on the very next ball. Composed innings so far and no doubt he knows how important his wicket is here with how the game has panned out so far. It took him 98 balls to get there but time isn't a factor now - he is.

NZL trail by 222 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 83/5 - Conway 38*, Blundell 0
WICKET! A much-less exciting fifth wicket sees Mitchell depart for a duck. Robinson is brought into the attack and once again he has a wicket in his first over. Classy nipbacker has Mitchell beat and it barrels into his knee for an LBW. Conway tells Mitchell there's no point in a review and he's back to the clubhouse after 10 balls. England well and truly in control here.
NZL trail by 242 runs with five wickets in hand.
NZL 82/4 - Conway 37*, Mitchell 0
WICKET! Well, that's one way to go! The Black Caps' chase quietened down after Conway's start until Wagner decides to change things up and goes on the offensive against Broad. He starts the over with a four flicked past the keeper at fine leg before punishing two bouncers with back-to-back sixes! Wagner, feeling himself, thought he would get another bouncer but Broad is fuller with the delivery and it's chipped to midwicket. Wagner gone for an entertaining 27.
NZL trail by 243 runs with six wickets in hand.
NZL 49/3 - Conway 29, Wagner 4*
Superb start from Conway as he finds the ropes three times for 12 runs off the first over from Broad.
NZL trail by 276 runs with seven wickets in hand.
NZL 37/3 - Conway 17*, Wagner 4
And out come Devon Conway and Neil Wagner - who was on Nightwatchman duties last night - to resume New Zealand's chase.
We're underway at Bay Oval!
NZL trail by 288 runs with seven wickets in hand.
1:50pm
We're about 10 minutes away from the first ball. Stunning day in the Mount.
1:30pm: Day 1 Recap

Dramatic lightning flashes around Bay Oval echoed lightning innings by Ben Duckett and Harry Brook which allowed England to declare at 325-9 with time to spare today on the first day of the first, day-night cricket Test against New Zealand.
While thick black thunderclouds sometimes glowered over the ground, no rain fell England while was driven along at more than 5.5 runs per over by the propulsive innings of Duckett, who made 84 from 68 balls in the first session, and Brook, who posted 89 from 80 balls.
The declaration after only 58.2 overs and with 85 minutes left in the day gave the bowlers time to fortify England’s position and they did so with the wickets of Tom Latham, Kane Williamson (6) and Henry Nicholls (4). Devon Conway (19) held on to stumps when New Zealand was 37-3.
James Anderson took 2-10 from seven overs in an outstanding spell in the late evening which drove home England's advantage.
If England’s new approach under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum still needed validation after nine wins in their last 10 Tests it received it in the manner England approached the first day after losing the toss and being sent in.
Far from being daunted on a pitch which showed signs of green and against a pink ball which swung at first, Duckett and England went on the offensive and New Zealand, after a fleeting early success, had to battle to stay in the match.
Duckett had his fifth half century in eight Tests from 36 balls and before the first hour was up. He put on 99 runs for England’s second wicket in only 90 minutes with Ollie Pope and was out 15 minutes before the first break at which England already was 134-2.
“Personally I pride myself on hundreds,” Duckett said. "I was very disappointed when I got out, I had a chance to get a big score but I would have taken 80 at the start of the day.
“I didn't go out there with any intention to score quickly and it just happened.”
New Zealand had two fast bowlers on debut — Blair Tickner and Scott Kuggeleijn — and both struggled under Duckett’s early assault which included 14 fours. Tickner, who had given up four boundaries in one over to the belligerent batting of the opener, had the small consolation of capturing his wicket with a short ball which Duckett mistimed to cover.
New Zealand’s hopes rose a little when they dismissed Pope and Joe Root in the space of four balls and suddenly England was 154-4. Pope fell to a conventional catch at second slip but Root was perhaps a little too aggressive and caught at mid-wicket to give Kuggeleijn his first test wicket.
Then Brooks took over and sped towards what might have been his fourth century in five tests. He needed only 43 balls for a half century which included 10 fours and left the New Zealand attack dazed and bereft of ideas.
While Duckett played a broad variety of shots, most of Brooks’ runs came on the off side in a wide arc between third man and mid-off. He only began to be limited in his scoring when Neil Wagner, who had shared the new ball with Tim Southee for the first time, abandoned orthodoxy and tested him with a barrage of short-pitched balls, one of which took him on the helmet.
His flow was broken and soon after he dragged a short ball from Wagner onto his stumps after an innings of only 81 balls which included 15 fours and a six. The England tail went all out in pursuit of quick runs and after Brook, three wickets were lost for 27 runs amid an array or reckless shots.
Wagner was the best of the New Zealand bowlers with 4-82 from 16.2 overs.
England’s bowlers charged in as the floodlights kept at bay the darkness of gathering clouds and the New Zealand top order foundered.
Ollie Robinson struck with only his third ball to remove Latham, who edged the ball from his thigh pad to Pope at short leg, but Zac Crawley at second slip dropped Conway off James Anderson.
Anderson then had Williamson lbw with an appeal first rejected by umpire Aleem Dar but upheld on review. Crawley caught Henry Nicholls off Anderson to leave New Zealand only hanging on at the end.
