Man dies in accident involving truck, pedestrian near Tūrangi

A man has died after a crash between a truck and pedestrian on State Highway 1 just north of Tūrangi.

The crash occurred about 9.45pm on Sunday, police say.

The serious crash unit is investigating and inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

The man's death has been referred to the coroner.
