Cooking oil spills across motorway on-ramp after truck rolls in Auckland

Oil was spilt across the road following the crash overnight.

Cooking oil was spilt across an Auckland motorway on-ramp after a truck rolled overnight.

The truck, carrying cooking oil, rolled on Highbrook Drive, blocking the southbound on-ramp to State Highway 1 in Ōtara at around 10.22pm.

"A truck tipped and some of its spilled contents required clean-up," police said

"One person was assessed for moderate injuries."

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson told 1News that four crews were sent to the scene.

Photos showed oil covering the road, with the truck lying on its side.

They said nobody was trapped after the crash, with police and a clean-up crew left to clear the scene, and the vehicle was towed.
