Two Auckland high schools have been forced to close on Monday after Covid-19 cases were detected.
The first case is a staffer at Macleans College who has not been in contact with any students.
The second case was discovered on Sunday. They are a student attending Mount Albert Grammar School. They were in class from October 26 to 28 before testing positive.
"We will be working, in the morning, to determine any close contacts of this student and also complete a thorough clean of our school," Mt Albert Grammar said in a letter sent out to parents and caregivers on Sunday evening.
"In the meantime, online learning, following our current timetable structure, will simply continue for Years 9 and 10, while Years 11, 12 and 13 will also return to online contact with their teachers."
Online learning will resume at both schools to allow for contact tracing and deep cleaning.
Year 11 to 13 students at Auckland schools were allowed to return to in-person learning on October 26.
