One person dead, one seriously injured in Gore car crash

There are reports of serious injuries after the early morning incident that started in Papanui.

A person has died following a crash in Kaiwera, Gore this afternoon. 

Police say the single-vehicle crash happened on Old Coach Road.

One person died at the scene, and another person has been seriously injured.

Police were alerted to the crash around 2.30pm.

The road is closed and people have been asked to avoid the area.

An investigation is underway.
