One confirmed case of measles reported in Wellington

Wellington has one confirmed case of measles after a teenager was admitted with the viral infection over the weekend, the Capital & Coast District Health Board has confirmed to 1 NEWS.

The teenager, who had been on a visit to the region, was admitted to Wellington Regional Hospital in a stable condition, they said.

On Thursday, it was reported 17 people had confirmed cases of the measles in Bay of Plenty and Lakes districts, 34 in Auckland and 39 in Christchurch.
