One person dead after vehicle hits tree in Hawke's Bay

One person has died following a crash on State Highway Two in the Hawke's Bay.

Police report the sole occupant of a vehicle died just before 6pm after it hit a tree.

The incident happened approximately 10 kilometres east of Wairoa.

The Serious Crash Unit is currently at the scene and police advise the road has not been closed at this stage.
