One left critical after Ashburton crash

A person has been left in a critical condition after a crash in Ashburton this morning. 

Police said in a statement the car crashed into a power pole at 3.15am on Staveley Rd. 

The person was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital. 

The road is currently closed. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
