Emergency services rush to scene of hotel fire in Auckland CBD

The Fire Service was called to a hotel in Auckland's CBD after being alerted to a kitchen fire this afternoon.

Fire communications confirmed to 1 NEWS that 15 fire trucks were sent to the Ibis Hotel on Wyndham Street this afternoon.

According to fire communications, the fire broke out on the 13th floor's kitchen and was extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Fire crews are now running routine checks throughout the rest of the hotel.
