Auckland police chase ends with car crashing into a house seriously injuring passenger

A police chase in Auckland has ended with a car hitting a house on Auckland's North Shore in the early hours of the morning. 

Police signalled for a driver to stop at around 1.30am today in Albany due to their manner of driving. 

Police began a pursuit when the driver failed to stop. 

According to a police spokesperson, the car hit a bend in the road and hit a bridge, before going down a bank and crashing into a house. 

Both men in the car were rushed to hospital following the incident, the passenger in a serious condition while the driver sustained moderate injuries.

No one in the house was injured.
