Police are investigating a "suspicious" blaze in Hamilton's Discovery Park on Thursday night and appealing for witness information.
Emergency services responded to reports of a fire in the park's public toilets and changing rooms at around 11pm on November 5.
"Before the fire was extinguished it caused extensive damage to the building and to sports equipment," Detective Andrew Murphy said.
"Witnesses reported seeing people firing fireworks at each other in the carpark shortly before the fire.
"The people were believed to have arrived in vehicles and reportedly left the area shortly before the fire was discovered."
Police were appealing to anyone who may have witnessed "suspicious activity" in the Discovery Drive or Discovery Park areas between 10.30pm and 11.15pm.
“We are particularly interested to hear from anyone with photos, video or information regarding the vehicles seen leaving the area around the time of the fire," Murphy said.
