Former Bachelor contestant and celebrity fitness influencer Sam Wood has been arrested over domestic violence charges in Queensland, according to Australian media reports.

The 46-year-old Victorian was reportedly holidaying in Noosa when police were called to a reported domestic violence incident at a Hastings St property on Saturday night. He was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, Nine.com.au reported.

The report said Wood was refused bail and was due to face Maroochydoore Magistrates Court in Queensland today on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

Wood rose to fame after starring in The Bachelor Australia in 2015, where he met his wife Snezana Markoski. He has since run an online home fitness programme.

The alleged victim of the incident cannot be identified, Australian media outlets said.
