'Risk to the public': Major police search for wanted man in Coromandel

Max Bradbury, 27, was spotted running across farmland near the town this morning.

A major police presence has descended on Coromandel township this morning as officers search for a man wanted on firearms charges who was seen in the area.

Max Bradbury, 27, was spotted running across farmland near the town on the Coromandel Peninsula's west coast, prompting a "strong police presence" including the Eagle helicopter and dog units from around 9am.

Police said Bradbury was considered a "risk to the public" and should not be approached.

The search was currently focused on the Kapanga Rd area in the centre of the township.

"Police ask the public to call 111 immediately if they see him," a police spokesperson said.
