A Queensland woman has died after falling about 80m off a cliff on an island near Bali.
A lifeguard was alerted to the 29-year-old, who appeared to be stranded on a cliff at Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida, at around 12pm on Saturday, 9News reports.
According to The Bali Times, the woman fell from the cliff while waiting for rescue.
“When the victim fell to the beach, she was found already deceased,” police said in a statement.
Her body was reportedly taken to a local health clinic. Police said she suffered multiple fractures, cuts and other injuries from the rocks along the cliff.
It is thought she was staying at a hostel.
Kelingking Beach is a popular tourist destination, known for its T-Rex shaped cliffs, located on the coast of Nusa Penida about 20km southeast of Bali.
