Photos have shown the devastation left behind by flash floods in Nepal and Tibet which have killed hundreds.
The death toll from the floods in the border area with China has reached 157. Officials have said hundreds of people are missing, including workers and tourists.
Five New Zealanders are listed among the foreign nationals reported missing.
The floodwaters destroyed buildings, bridges, energy infrastructure, and entire villages.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has not confirmed the number, saying it is in contact with authorities in Nepal and seeking more information about any New Zealanders who may be affected.
Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said this morning: "We are deeply concerned about the flooding and landslides in Nepal's Rasuwa district and the Nepal/China border area.
