63yo man charged over historical sexual offending against boys

A 63-year-old man has been arrested in Christchurch over alleged historical sexual offending against boys.

The man appeared in the Christchurch District Court yesterday, charged with four counts of unlawful sexual connection with a male aged 12 to 16 and three counts of indecent assault on a boy aged between 12 and 16.

He was due to reappear in court on August 25.

"As the matter is before the courts, police are unable to comment further," Detective Inspector Scott Anderson said.
