Two in custody over Facebook Marketplace robbery in Auckland

Two people are in custody after an alleged aggravated robbery in Howick this afternoon.

Police said it was called to the incident on Union Road at about 2.45pm, after a report a person held a firearm during a Facebook Marketplace transaction.

"The offender fled the scene on foot but was shortly picked up by a vehicle," police said.

"Thankfully, the victim was uninjured."

With the assistance of the Eagle helicopter, police located the vehicle in Glen Innes.

Two 19-year-old males were then arrested. Police added charges were pending.
