The FIFA World Cup final will be between Spain and Argentina.

The third place playoff between France and England is on Sunday, July 19 and the final on Monday, July 20.

This year's 48-team tournament featured a new round of 32 knockout stage before the traditional round of 16, where several heavyweight nations saw their World Cup campaigns come to an end.

Then in the quarterfinals, the world's top four ranked nations - France, Spain, England and Argentina - all came through.

Here’s the fixtures and results for the final four matches (all times NZT).
