TVNZ has announced it has secured exclusive free-to-view and pay rights to FIFA World Cup 2030, after smashing streaming records throughout the 2026 tournament.
The World Cup was held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 12 - July 20, with TVNZ holding the rights for the tournament.
The broadcaster said it was the biggest event in TVNZ+ history, with over 20 million streams recorded across 104 matches.
The final between Spain and Argentina was watched by 761,000 people on TVNZ1 and was the highest reaching match of the tournament across broadcast and on demand streaming.

All Whites coverage reached over one million people on TVNZ 1 and over half a million on TVNZ+.
TVNZ chief executive officer Jodi O'Donnell said the World Cup was a "standout moment for football in Aotearoa and for TVNZ".
"We’ve loved bringing New Zealanders into the heart of the global conversation, while delivering coverage that felt distinctly local and made for our audiences," she said.
The next iteration of the World Cup would make history as the first tournament played across three continents. Morocco, Portugal and Spain are the hosts, with opening matches in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay to acknowledge the first World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930.
"With FIFA World Cup 2030 secured, we’re excited to keep building on our momentum," O'Donnell said.
"There’s plenty of football for Aotearoa to get behind before the next FIFA World Cup, with Auckland FC Men’s and Women’s action in the New Zealand International Football Festival later this month, and the UEFA EUROs in 2028," she added.
