Person dies following quad bike accident in south Otago

A person has died following an incident involving a quad bike in The Catlins this morning.

Emergency services were called to a property on Cemetery Rd in Kaka Point around 11.20am, police said.

Officers arrived at the property to find a person dead at the scene.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they responded with three fire trucks and an emergency response vehicle from Balclutha and Kaka Point.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the person's death were ongoing.
