Aucklanders are being urged to report sightings of a "dangerous" man after a shot was fired at a property during a failed break-in on Monday night.
Police were called to Point England Rd in Point England on the evening of June 29 after a man attempted to force his way into a property at around 8.45pm.
Unsuccessful in his efforts, the man fired a gun into the front of the house before fleeing on foot.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Police are now urging the public to report sightings of 19-year-old Junior Simolo, who has an arrest warrant over the incident. The warrant is for "serious firearms charges".
Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said Simolo is from the Point England area and is "considered dangerous".
"We urge the public to not approach him,” she says.
“If you see Simolo, call 111 immediately.”
