Police are searching for a person who fled on foot after shooting at a property in Auckland's Point England last night.

Auckland City CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said a person arrived at the Point England Rd address and unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry around 8.45pm.

The offender then fired a gun into the front of the dwelling, before fleeing on foot.

"Thankfully, no one at the address was injured," Kirk said.

She said inquiries are ongoing to identity and locate the person responsible.

Anyone with information was urged to contact police online, by calling 105, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
