US rock band Evanescence to play one-off NZ show in 2027

The current lineup of Evanescence consists of frontwoman and founder Amy Lee (vocals, keyboards), guitarists Troy McLawhorn and Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, and bassist Emma Anzai.

US rock band Evanescence will return to New Zealand next year to play a one-off show at Auckland's Spark Arena.

The band, best known for defining hits including Bring Me To Life, Going Under and My Immortal, will embark on a world tour headlining amphitheaters and arenas across North America before taking the arena tour to the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America in 2027.

Evanescence will take fans through a vast array of material from their 2003 debut album Fallen, through to the just-released album Sanctuary.

The five-piece band would play a one-off show at Auckland's Spark Arena on Saturday March 20, 2027.

After bursting onto the scene in the early 2000s, their debut album Fallen became one of the most critically and commercially successful releases of the 21st century, earning two Grammy Awards and achieving diamond certification in the United States.

Two decades later, Evanescence reached a new career milestone, scoring their first #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with Afterlife, written for Netflix’s Devil May Cry in 2025.

They were in New Zealand late last year to support Metallica at Eden Park.
