Will Jordan's Super Rugby Pacific season is over, the Crusaders and All Blacks outside back suffering a recurrence of a calf injury which will rule him out for four to six weeks.
Jordan did not train for the Crusaders yesterday after his side's thrilling 36-32 victory over the Chiefs at the weekend which cemented their place in the playoffs.
The victory, which allowed the Crusaders to keep a perfect three from three record at their new stadium, was his comeback match after the calf problem had sidelined him for six weeks.
And the Crusaders' worst fears have been confirmed today as a social media post from the franchise confirmed Jordan's Super Rugby season is over.
The Crusaders play the Hurricanes in a crunch final-round game in Christchurch on Friday - a win for the defending champions would help in their goal to qualify for a home playoff.
Should they be successful over the Hurricanes, the No.1-ranked team in the competition, and the Blues lose to the Chiefs in Hamilton on Saturday, the Crusaders will finish third and host a playoff match.
Crusaders head coach Rob Penney is not the only coach disappointed by the setback; All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie will also be keeping tabs on Jordan's health ahead of the first Test of the year against France in Christchurch on July 4.
