Two people have died in Northland overnight following two separate fatal crashes.
In the Whangārei suburb of Oakleigh, emergency services responded to a single vehicle crash on State Highway 1 around 1:30am.
One person died at the scene, and another was transported to hospital in serious condition.
In another single vehicle crash, one person died in Turiwuri, just southeast of Dargaville.
Emergency services arrived at the scene near Arapohue Road and Rowland Road around 7:50pm.

The serious crash unit are looking into the circumstances of the crashes.
