Police have named the two people who died following a car crash on State Highway 1 near Kinleith, south of Tokoroa last month.
They were James Daniel Spence, 28, from England, and Raphael Jean-Gabriel Roellinger, 22, from France.
Emergency services were called to the scene on April 29 shortly after 9pm.
Two people were located deceased at the scene. A third person sustained serious injuries.
"Police extend our deepest condolences to their families during this difficult time," a spokesperson said.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash remained ongoing.
